Have you ever tried to sell a camera lens? What about your old SLR? Did you start looking around for a local camera shop or an online camera store? When you found it did they offer you 30-40% of what they had the same exact camera selling for on the shelf next to you?
Well that is exactly what happened to me when I walked into a couple local camera stores and I could not possibly give in and let them make a killing off my barely used Nikon lenses. I recently bought the Nikon D60 and it came with the Nikkor 18-55mm VR and the Nikkor 55-200mm VR lenses. I wanted to upgrade to a great walking lens, the 18-200mm VR lens for an upcoming vacation.
So then I went online to see what options I had. I found the exact same results from major online retailers like B&H and Adorama. Then I moved on to Craigslist and eBay. eBay was going to take 8% from me. Don’t they have enough money that they shouldn’t have to take a chunk from my $150? Craigslist was my best option but then I would have to do a lot more legwork to make the sale; communicate with the buyer, arrange for some sort of payment and I certainly would have no protection from the buyer. Would I meet up with the buyer in a dark gas station parking lot to make a sale that the cop across the street thinks is a drug deal? If the guy tried to screw me would I have any recourse?
So stop getting ripped off when you try to sell your photography equipment and while you’re at it grab some new fisheye lens for your Nikon D300 or buy that new Coolpix compact camera for that special person who has been begging for one since last Christmas (like my father in-law).
Anyway, I think you get the point of why I started this camera auction site. I wanted to provide a forum that was extremely convenient. So I started an auction type marketplace that is cheap, in fact FREE! It has many of the same features as the other auction sites; in fact it offers many more like 10 different payment gateways to use for the transaction. Do you want to customize your personal store to sell your digital camera, video camcorder or maybe an old 35mm film camera? Well do it at RutsCameras! You can even sell your personal photographs taken by your Canon DSLR or your Panasonic Lumix point and shoot camera.
The more users on here the more we can all buy, sell and trade our cameras without handing some large corporation a chunk of money just for listing your equipment for sale. If you like the site please tell your friends and make sure you mention it is completely FREE! How can you beat that?
Let me know what you think or how I can improve your camera shopping experience via the contact us page or at Feedback@RutsCameras.com.
Thanks
